Charles, a Blackfoot Native American, adopted two mustangs in May. One he was riding after two months. The other, this little Filly, had already been adopted out twice!! So this is the third adoption she was at. If she was not adopted, she would be euthanized under the new, what I call, lack of interest in mustangs, BLM Policy. Thus, Sister-in-Law Brenda and Cherokee, adopted Mystery. Mystery ended up with about 25 feet of mud encrusted 'Drag-Line'. However, despite Charles' best attempts over two months, getting into a round-pen with her was seemingly impossible as she wanted to protect herself. Charles, a former LRRP for the 101st Airborne in Vietnam, called me. Hey, that's what we Vets do, help one another .. I flew attack helicopters in Vietnam.. so I asked him to bring her over and we'd play "WHW Workshop' like we did in the days when the BLM actually cared about the Mustang as a horse from the wild. Follow along and see what two intensive days can do for gentling a fearful mustang if you think outside the box. For all you team members, we wish we could have had Charles go everywhere with us on previous forays to the WHW clinics. We;d have double our success rate! ... and learned a lot about Blackfoot Culture too. Shapeshifters welcomed!
