Tooka -- a BLM Wild Mustang

He takes a careful walk out on to stable ground and seems quite happy about it.

Tooka Arrives after three days in the trailer. He'd taken to relaxing by laying down for 15 minutes. Smart guy.

TOOKA: "Hummm, I wonder if he knows that I move the other direction?"

"Anybody Looking at me? No one around I see. Now's my chance to get a free lunch ...."

A few days later and I am going to use this bucket to stand on to practise mounting. Get him used to many aspects of it right now.

Tooka:  "OK, I give up. He hasn't a clue how to ride me"

Tooka is looking at me and saying "Is this another one who doesn't know which end to get on?" It's Pam trying out her new horse. Do you see how mentally stable Tooka is?? Mind you, Tooka is watching me and asking if this is a "Click" moment.

Some quasi-jumping practice, which he seems to like to do.

Getting his first ever hoof trimming by Trudy. Tooka stands nicely without being tied, unlike many domestic horses where cross-ties are used.... Gee, is there a difference in training styles between the cross-tie people and us?

Tooka enters the "Stargate". He's going to P376x259 where there are free fields of Oats for all Mustangs.

...Like I said ... Tooka will eventually get even with jackson .. who will eventually get even with Tooka.  It's a nice game.

Well,  here is Jackson, the BLM Burro He plays rough.  However, Tooka likes it and gets rough with Jackson. Sometimes Tooka tells Jackson off though ...

Tooka:  "OK, now I am a circus horse?  Will this never end? "

The East Carter High School FFA come to visit. The girl is using a stick with a Tricycle horn on it. Took will make it honk (LOUDLY) and usually get a "Click" and treat for doing so.  He's very proud of himself at this point.

This is how I will eventually put a foot in the stirrup then lean over then get on. So I want him to be happy about bending around to greet me and also to see me leaning forwards as I give him the treat after the click.

Cutting out a single sheep --- a 101-Level class for Tooka. All new ... and he's doing great.
