Wild Horse Workshop Kansas - 2002 -- [Page One]

Frank Bell
Frank Bell is another friend and professional gentler, from Utah. He volunteers his time yearly at these events.
Willis Lamm
Willis Lamm, famed Fire Chief and Mustang Gentler from California, is the founder of the LRTC group who actually organizes these clinics.
John Sharp
John Sharp, one of my heroes, is from Oregon. He is also one of the Clinicians who volunteer their time, as do I, at these BLM sponsored Gentling Clinics.
Navajo Circle
The 'Navajo Circle' I use when I have enough people I can trust to remain calm. We don't necessarily *Contain* the mustang. In fact, if she needs to bolt and escape we let her through. However, one of us will instantly re-appear in front of her. Finally she decides to see what we are all about. --Don't try it at home, it can be dangerous!!
Janet Nordin --- BLM
Janet Neal, an official with the BLM Wild Horse Program, has apparently been eating Blueberry Muffins again !!!
Navajo Circle
And she turns around to meet another human. That's me with the hat --- everyone else has on a helmet.
Sacking out with a rope
At first I will often use a thin rope attached to a Parelli Carrot-Stick --- to gently toss over the mustangs back. Eventually, this gets him used to being touched, all over, by strange things. He decides that he doesn't need to kick-out or bolt away.
Poker Game and horse
This year's Poker Haltering did not work out. Somehow, we chose a horse who had no innate, sustained, curiosity as do most mustangs. Thus, this one wandered off and stayed away from us. That's Willis Lamm and Frank Bell with me.
