A Bandito Friend
Here are three pictures of a cute yearling. He overcame his fears fairly quickly. A while later, I easily led him onto a BLM stock trailer. He was adopted by a nice farm family with lots of grand-kids --- what a nice life he will have now !!!
Hiding halter behind my back
Introducing the halter to him --- it's behind my back
Smooching with the colt
Just can't resist giving a smooch to these braves colts.
Trout's Treats
Teaching Trout some Clicker Training. He's found the bag I keep the treats in.
Trout learns Kick-Ball
If Trout touches the Ball, I will make a CLICK sound then move towards him and offer a tiny bit of hay as the reward.
Trout gets my hat and a treat
Not really looking at him -- just making sure he understands that when I am allowed to do something "Scary" around him, AND he stands still, then I will CLICK. In this case, I put the hat on his head. Just now he's getting a little hay as a reward.
Filly gets a blanket of sorts
A little filly colt learns about scary bandanas as well as Clicker Training. Lauren is handing the filly a little hay AFTER I made the Click noise signalling that the filly had stood still and accepted the waving bandana. Lauren is another from DANADA Equine Center near Chicago.
Trout's Stroll
Trout was doing so well that I took him for a stroll outside the roundpen. Next we loaded into a BLM trailer. But there were no cameras to be found!!! That's the DANADA Crew behind us.
Dinner with Danada
Speaking of Danada --- the Cowgirls rounded me up and took me to dinner. 16 hours a day in the pens with the mustangs gave me a great appetite.
