Bagari

Miss Czarina!!

Page covers Mar 30, 2010 to ...

Bagari "counts coup",  I have verified this by watching and following at a long enough distance away. At this time, she knows she has three very young calves on the ground.  She will move along and do what is necessary to get close enough to identify them by both sight smell. She gets perplexed when one calf is laying in a little depression of the field and thus not readily visible from a distance. Here, Bagari sees two of them. Where is the third hiding. You may note, it isn't possible to hide from bagari.

Spring actually looks like it might be here. I was out fixing fences. Bagari was out inspecting her calves.

A week later and we buy tow more Cow/Calf pairs. These are their calves. Once again Bagari is refining her method to calmly be able to walk up to new calves. This pair is feeling playful after walking up to Bagari. They take off. Bagari follows slowly until they go back in the feeding area with the mothers. Bagari seems to know that the mothers want their grain but no they need to find their straying children.  Hey ... check out Little Bag-Lady's muscling.

When she is quite satisfied they are accounted for, Bagari backs off and watches for a good while.

Bagari is the guardian of horses in the Flood2010 evac area. She quite easily leaps onto the hay wagon to eat her breakfast. A Thoroughbred named 'Simon' is quite interested in her.

The two ran around and Bagari just followed them quietly. Soon they opted to run and eat with their moms. At that point, Bagari, satisfied she had done her job, walked away.

Late afternoon and Pullo & I are checking on calves. Bagari arrives, quietly and looks around. "Gosh Boss, they walked off and left some calves. When will they learn?"

After the flood cleanup, we moved animals back across the road. Soon, Bessie had her calf. I was riding, checking things,  and Bagari went out and looked in on Bessie and her calf.  Bagari was ever so quiet about approaching. She "Marked" the territory along a trail which parallels the river to signal predators they had entered her territory and "Watch Out!". I had to Label the positions of Bagari and Bessie because with the tall grasses,  it is just quite difficult to spot the Ovcharka!

Bagari: YOU ... you are a ROGUE! how many times I tell you to hang out with other mommies??

BAGARI: Oh, here i go again. C'mon little calf , go to your mother ... c'mon little calf ...

Bagari watches as a Wild Mustang named Blackjack, and I, play "Roll The Barrel" .

BAGARI: Uh HUH! I see another lost calf wandering form his mom. Soooo much work they make for poor little Russian Girl ... Soooo much work, I tell you! Why do I deserve this? Why, I ask you!

I really looked hard and long.  I looked for any sign of movement. Nada! Nothing! Zilch!

I was riding my herding horse "Pullo" down in the far-field. Bagari used to follow me around down here when I was training "Tinka". As Pullo turned around, I looked around remembering her there every day,. She was always on duty even though a puppy. Then I got the feeling that somebody was watching me. So I strained my eyes. I searched all around to see who it was...

A long time ago: Phoebe jumped in the river; Rosie went after her, I jumped in with a lariat to help save the baby. Rosie saved both of us from being swept downstream. Then I got Phoebe to the edge and we got them out fine. We were out about a third the way into Tygart's! .

And then I saw her move her pink tongue! The little Czarina had followed me today and was still protecting me. The picture is the same. I merely zoomed in.  Then I used Photoshop to bring out the tones/shades and colors more prominently. What I saw looks exactly like the first two pictures. Ovcharki have a clever color scheme don't they?
