Leroy's back!! He's visiting from Gerald Triplett's farm. Here, he's just finished helping the other LGD's in clearing the pastures for the sheep. That's Bandit in the distance.
Dec of 2004 and Leroy has taken a liking to the horses. He spends a lot of time in there watching and sleeping in the hay. The horses all seem to really like Leroy. They step around him when he is resting on the floor. That is the rear leg of Cassiopeia, a 2000 pound Percheron.
Fiona, a baby burro, was born where Leroy was guarding. He really likes her and takes quite good care of her.
I couldn't believe this one. Leroy gets into the horses Alfalfa Cubes and takes a few.
Then Leroy proceeds to use his massive Kuvasz Teeth to bust up the Alfalfa cube.
Then he decides to eat the cubes instead of his kibble, right near him.
"Blah to You Buster for not bringing me a COOKIE!!!"
A small and fairly quiet thunderstorm in April of 2005 sends Leroy to Cassiopeia's stall for hiding. She's every bit as big as it appears here, weighing in over one ton!! And Cassie is as gentle as she is big. He's perfectly safe hiding from the scary thunderstorm in here and Cassie ignores thunder anyway. Afterall, chow beats thunder any day!!
I was digging post holes to sub-divide a paddock. Leroy came around and studied me a while. Then, in the direction where I would be digging the next one, Leroy began to dig a hole for me! After that, he went and lined up to be able to assist me in making the pole vertical. Gotta love those Kuvasz
"Hey Boss, can you tilt it a little to YOUR left now, it's leaning"
This is one smart Kuvasz.
So, in the afternoon it rains. Leroy's horses all go into the breezeway of the horse barn. I notice that he is sleeping, in a fashion, as he sits "Guard" on "Leroy's" barn. Some of the horses weigh one ton!! I noticed that ALL of them walked around him showing respect for the old guy. At first I was about to scream for either the horse to halt of Leroy to move. But I was going to be too late so I just held my breath. I guess this is a regular occurrence and they just know to watch out for him. And he sure isn't worried about their movement. This picture missed the one-ton "Rosie" on the right but unfortunately out of view at the moment.
Mr. Jealous !!!!!!! I am raking Agrippa in the breezeway this May morning. Leroy came up between my legs and lifted me backwards. I HAD to groom his back and chin a while. When I quit, he ran around screaming at me as seen here. I had to quit again and groom Leroy. The wind is blowing. That's Kuvasz fur blowing on the ground. Anyone think LEROY IS SPOILED ????
