So it looks as though Lilly will go to the vet, a long drive, but totally necessary, in the morning. Atia, well, who knows. She can't get along with Bagari. She has rolled Lilly on several occasions for no reason I could see as I stood there. Bagari can't get along with either Lilly nor Badger nor Atia. Though I had noted the other day that every time Atia walked out in the morning, Lilly and Agrippa were giving her the warning and stern barking routine. I thought that Lilly was getting some moxie and becoming tired of Atia's mild aggression.  But who knows. it's difficult to lay blame.  All I know is that there was very very little internal strife, for years, and now there are certain members who can not be mixed with other members.  And this strife has been, so far, racking up big vet bills.

Poor Lilly ... A couple days ago I had let Atia out of the upper sheep paddock.  I saw a tiny bit of blood on her shoulder.  So I went and surveyed the LGD's and got close enough to imagine i saw no blood or "drool" on Badger, Agrippa nor Lilly. ... Well, this morning I saw the hind-end of Lilly from a distance and saw the tell-tale, "ugly" fur ,  of a wound. Atia had senselessly attacked Lilly. I can say this with quite a bit of knowledge of Lilly's personality ... she imagines herself as about number 5 in the herd, nothing more and no desire to rise. She's a valuable LGD worker and always has been trustworthy amongst the other LGD's.

Lilly's progress, a picture for the Vet's Office, as of July 19th. And she is till in the 20x10 X-Pen in the Leroy-Barn. Poor girl !!...

Seen in the picture is the back end of the battery-powered shearing machine I just used. There is a black leash laying over Lilly's back ...She is laying on her own right-side. The wound is generally upside of the tail-dock ... her head being to the left.

Edelweiss

Lilly, again,  tangled with Atia. This time however, I had Zakat in the paddock with Atia to serve as her 'Champion'. Atia seems absolutely insecure/unwilling to defend/unwilling to challenge ??? Dunno, She may feel unable to defend in in light of her constant limping. However, I observed Bagari try to get Atia to fight and Atia stood perfectly Neutral. Really a good Neutral. Now, I have seen Lilly really make some rude gestures to Atia. recently, about two weeks ago, Lilly was clean-coat and Atia was dirt-trashed but no blood. Neither had blood. But Zakat was not in-paddock. Today Lilly is trashed. She is exceedingly 'Stunned' acting.  Lilly is a very good paddock guard. She was a very good mom too, back then. So the upshot is I have three females and can not put any of them in the same paddock.  Remember, these are working Girls.  They are not your typical down-bred-for city-dweller LGD's, which actually shouldn't be called pyrenees then because they are bred for docile and not to protect ... but that's my gripe with most breeders of LGD I have com into contact with.
